Stonehaven Conservatives Launch Survey On Sports
Facilities
Stonehaven
Conservatives are gearing up to circulate every house in
Stonehaven this month with their survey on sports
facilities.
This is very much
part of their campaign to bring a new state of the art
sports complex to the town, primarily for field based
sports.
They are
encouraging every resident to reply with their ideas
regardless of their own political beliefs as the team see
this as a non party political campaign, but one that the
whole town can get behind.
George Carr and
Alan Venters volunteered to investigate the options and have
widened their survey to include questions relating to the
proposed development at Ury estate and on planning gain
alternatives. Planning gain is money allocated to the
Council from developers for infrastructure and facilities
once planning permission is granted .
They felt that
local folk should have a say on such matters.
Scottish
Parliamentary candidate, Stewart Whyte said: “This is a
great opportunity for the Stonehaven community to have their
say on decisions affecting the town. A desire for better
sporting facilities was regularly raised with me on the
doorsteps when I talked to residents over the summer. I
strongly urge people to take part in the survey and to make
their views known.”
