Stonehaven Conservatives press on with plans for new
sports facilities.
Stonehaven Conservatives have been pressing
on with their campaign for better field based sports
provision in the town.
Following their residents survey across the
town last year on sports facilities, 75% of survey
respondents said that better facilities were needed. The
local Conservatives received some great feed back on what
local residents wanted to see in the way of improved
amenities, primarily for field based sports. Their findings
were also endorsed by the Community Council “Future of
Stonehaven” consultation exercise last year which also
identified a lack of sports provision in the town.
This is now out of the political arena and a
small steering group has been set up by Alan Venters to
coordinate plans and develop the project bid for a new
sports facility. The Stonehaven Conservatives wish the group
the best of luck and have offered to help in any way they
can. A feasibility study is currently underway and he has
invited groups in the town who would be interested in making
use of new facilities to submit letters of interest to
himself before the end of February.
