Welcome For Tourism Survey Results
North East Tory MSP Alex Johnstone has given a warm welcome
to survey results from VisitScotland which shows that 95% of
visitors to Scotland were satisfied with their holiday and
96% would recommend the destination.
Mr Johnstone said "This is excellent news, especially as the
research shows that visitors appear to be visiting several
areas of Scotland during their stay. I am also pleased to
note that the customer service and cuisine on offer met or
exceeded visitors expectations. Clearly our tourism
industry has come a long way."
"With the loss of several of our traditional hotels and the
increasing number of restaurants and café's, Aberdeenshire
is changing its identity in the tourist market. I also
believe that café's and restaurant are reaping the benefits
of quality local produce while promoting both exotic and
traditional Scottish cuisine using fresh local produce which
is clearly finding favour with visitors."
"I believe we can continue to build on these results and
make Aberdeenshire, and especially Deeside, a 'must see'
destination. We already have unrivalled history and scenery
that we are delighted to share with visitors, coupled with a
hospitality industry that is growing and improving all the
time. The value of tourism to our economy is immense and we
can only benefit from welcoming more visitors to the area. I
can only encourage local businesses to keep up the good
work."
