Local Tories To the Fore In Holyrood Fundraiser
 The Mearns
was once again well represented in the annual charity
tug-of-war tournament staged last week at Holyrood. Pictured
are the two Tory teams who were among the 20 who took part
in the event which was sponsored by HBOS and raised £5000
for Barnados.
Included in the line up are North East MSP
Alex Johnstone and his wife Linda and they are joined by
Stonehaven man Sam McMillan and, making his first appearance
at the event, former Aberdeenshire Councilor Sandy Wallace.
Making up the teams are Conservative MSP's Murdo Fraser and
John Lamont along with some enthusiastic research staff.
The Tory 'Heavy' team, wearing the dark
shirts, were beaten in the semi-final by the eventual
winners, a team from The Scotsman newspaper, who went on to
beat the team from HBOS in the final.
