Help For Heroes Calendar In Scottish Parliament
North
East Tory MSP Alex Johnstone has taken a batch of calendars
to the Scottish Parliament in order to raise funds for the
'Help for Heroes' charity.
The calendars, produced by Major Danny
McDermid who hails from Arbroath, sells for £9.99, and
features photographs of men and women from the armed
services both in and out of uniform. The calendars are
reversible and feature twelve months of servicemen on one
side and twelve months of servicewomen on the other.
Mr Johnstone said "I am delighted to be able
to help this important charity which does so much for those
who have sustained wounds whilst serving their country. The
North East has a very proud military tradition and I believe
that this calendar is a fantastic way for people to show
their appreciation for those who been injured in the current
conflicts."
The Help For Heroes charity was formed in
2007, and although several high profile events have raised
substantial sums of money, most of the donations have come
in from ordinary, decent people who might never have
responded to a service charity before.
Anyone who would like to purchase a copy of
the calendar can contact Mr Johnstone at his Stonehaven
office on 01569 762785.
