MSP Lobbies Ambulance Chief Over Braemar Scheme
North
East MSP Alex Johnstone has written to the Acting Chief
Executive of the Scottish Ambulance Service, Pauline Howie
in support of the proposed pilot scheme for retained
ambulance provision in Braemar.
In his letter Mr Johnstone expresses his
support for the proposal for the above scheme which has been
developed in conjunction with local community
representatives and politicians in co-operation with
representatives of the Scottish Ambulance Service saying,
"It is my understanding that a business case
is to be presented covering the proposal and that progress
now depends on its approval. I hope that this hurdle will
be cleared successfully and the scheme can be in place by
the suggested date of 11 May 2009."
Mr Johnstone paid tribute to the members
of the community and the representatives of the Scottish
Ambulance Service for the constructive way in which all
parties have engaged in the process which has led to this
proposal saying,
"The people of Braemar have shown a
remarkable capacity for coming together for the benefit of
their community and their willingness to come forward to
participate in this proposed scheme is one more
demonstration of their spirit."
