Macmillan Fundraising Success

A total of £300 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support at a coffee morning held by Alex Johnstone MSP at his home in Stonehaven last Friday.   The event was part of the charity’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ and was one of a number of similar events held in the town that day.

Contributions towards the total raised included £140 from the Stonehaven Unionist Club and others included the staff of J B Hair Design of Great Western Road, Aberdeen and Maggie’s Café in Stonehaven.

Speaking after the event, the North East MSP said: “I was delighted to be able to host this event in support for Macmillan and it was a pleasure to invite so many generous people into my home for a cup of coffee.   I did not charge for entry or the coffee.   The hospitality was free and all donations were made in a spirit of generosity for the benefit of everyone who has Macmillan to thank for their work.

“Can I also congratulate everyone else who held an event as part of the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ and Macmillan themselves for the support they provide – well done everyone!”
